EOG Resources, Inc. is a company engaged in hydrocarbon exploration. It is organized in Delaware and headquartered in the Heritage Plaza building in Houston, Texas. The company is ranked 181st on the Fortune 500.The company was named Enron Oil & Gas Company before its separation from Enron in 1999.
A perspective of an in house employee of EOG Resources says it all: "Bad managers that make you feel as if you're less, found reasons to skip on bonuses, single out certain people for things others are allowed to do. They let incompetent staff move into management positions with no degree and little working knowledge of technology just because they were grandfathered in. Working for EOG resources was a waste of eight years of my life. Their managers and management system in this company is very discriminative, uneducated and dishonest, they have no loyalty to the people and men and women that are putting the shirts on their back’s, after this experience I do not wish to work for another oil field company. Management went around me and talked directly to those working under me, but that is an issue I have a lot of experience with. It was a really negative experience for many employees."

Daily checks on the network and data sent to Cygnet. keeping contact and communication up up Engineers and Lease Operators. Ordering parts for each specific job and making sure correct parts and devices arrive to location on time. Programming end devices and setting up communications. Training new techs on the automation with software and weekly meetings."

I was there 3 years, no promotion, token pay raise and threatened by supervisor and manager. They have little respect for tenured employees or your skills and knowledge acquired. No procedural manual, no independent thinking allowed, no respect for personal boundaries and exceptionss made for employment of young non-degreed individuals. It's stressful, sad place to work and there is never time to get to know others in your department. Cons: Turnover in management, being kept in the dark, lack of direction"
Production Analyst (Former Employee) says"A very stress full place to work for, manger did not even speak to you or acknowledge you. I do not recommend the Midland office to work at. I was told other locations are not at all like the Midland's office."
Terminal Operator (Former Employee) says"They will keep you as a contractor and promote you as company. Some people have been there about 10 years and are still working as contractors. As long as you are a contractor you do not get employee benefits."
Production Accounting Analyst (Former Employee) says"As the workforce was a temp workforce, the job insecurity was very tangible therefore closeness between coworkers was non-existent. No overtime was allowed at most of the admin and clerical positions so your workweek was stressful because deadlines were still expected to be met. Cons: The admin and clerical workforce consisted of only temp employees, these same temp employees had very slight chances of being hired as permanent employees, high turnover of admin and clerical employees."

EOG prefers young developers they can get 5-7 years out of them then get rid of them and bring in a new group. That is the new model they have in place."

Respect is not given by management to contractors or underlings as well as company. Harassment occurs by favorites and tolerated. Attitude and work ethics are poor. Management often blames people under them for their mistakes often when they had nothing to do with it. Management does not back its people. Cons: Poor management, low key harrassment, incompetence by management"
